Our Staff specializes in: industrial design, 3D solid design, IEEE electrical engineers, Optical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, PhD software staff, PC board design and layouts, production and manufacturing engineering, and prototyping.

Jeff Brown, President

Jeff has 23 years managing engineering teams and projects, his education is in Electronic Engineering, and he is an innovative designer of mechanical systems, optics and plastic devices and enclosures.
Virginia Brown, Grants & Proposals
Virginia is skilled in fundraising, human resources, customer interface, and support. She comes to us from England and brings a level of sophistication to our organization and a high degree of professionalism.
  Mike Heare, Industrial Designer
Mike is a first rate Industrial Designer with over 15 years of experience in developing concepts and forms for designs. He has a BA in Industrial Design from Colorado and is a skilled plastics designer with an eye for labels and visuals.
Tyler Kirby, Mechanical Engineer

Tyler graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, and he has been with Excalibur Engineering for almost 2 years. Tyler uses SolidWorks exclusively to design mechanical parts for Excalibur’s projects.
Clint Hermansen, Mechanical Engineer

Clint is starting graduate school at Utah State University in Mechanical Engineering. Clint manages all the documentation for Excalibur, and he also generates sold drawings in SolidWorks.

Jen has over 6 years of support experience that ranges from account receivable and payable, purchasing, website development, grant and proposal writing, technical support, and general office support. She has worked with a varied group of industries including: mechanical, electrical, civil, space, and computer engineering.
Dr. Fon Brown, Software Engineer

Fon has a Phd. in both Software and Electronics. He is brilliant in math and science. Fon provides a stable core to the engineering by checking/challenging the thinking and insuring that Excalibur is always fundamentally grounded in science. Fon directs all the software activities at Excalibur.
Phil Covington, Electrical Engineer Emeritus
Phil has 38 years of design and documentation experience in mechanical and electronic engineering. Phil excels in maintaining careful control of the drawings, schematics, layouts, and designs. Phil forms the backbone of document control and maintains the Device Master Records required for medical design and development.
Dr. Guy Hatch
Dr. Hatch served 21 years as a general pediatrician in Logan, Utah. In addition to clinical medicine, he has also been successful in medical device research and development. His infant warming system and reflectance pulse oximetry sensor address unique needs of premature infants. Dr. Hatch writes Excalibur’s FDA submittals and works closely on patents.
